when foster kids are hit with a curve ball

Hi Blog family!

As I hear many foster and former foster stories I am livid that more is not being done to get our kids out of group homes and into homes!! I know we cannot save everyone - but over 9,000 kids in foster care in Westchester area- we need to do more!!
I have tried to link up with agency's - --with no luck but I am stubborn - I am grateful for those who have come to our events and nothing will not stop me when it comes to saving or changing a life!!

I have been in care and I was blessed that even at my worse, even when abused by my two foster brothers at 9 - even though it was found out by my foster aunt who slept in my bed one night and was mistaken for me -she shared my horror and it was covered up and I still stayed in the home til 18 I still came out better than if I had stayed in Orphanage/group home!!!*I kept my sanity even in torment!!!

want any kid reading to know with therapy healing is always possible!!! This is why I wrote "Surviving Foster Care & Making It Work For You" so that you could learn from my mistakes! (available at www.Amazon.com for as low as I could make it- this book is not about making $$ its about saving and changing lives!
I tried to ask some agency's to have it as a guide book to no avail, but again, lol, I can't be stopped!! I ask people to buy it and give it to a foster kid! I work with what I have!

My partner and I are doing a FREE workshop at the Mount Kisco Public Library May 28th 4-6pm "Intervention for maternal loss and developmental trauma in adoption and foster Care" - Robert Hafetz; American Adoption Congress State Rep & Adoption Education Family Counseling LLC will be our workshop leader and speaker!! He will also do a book signing for his new book - "Not Remembered Never Forgotten" - Refreshments will be served RSVP  tgirlcooper@yahoo,com - If you were ever adopted/fostered or wanting to adopt or work with foster and adopted- you don't want to miss this! ITs all about the healing and what you don't know - CAN hurt you or the kids you work with!!!

I am doing the work I was sent to do and I appreciate all the support and love from our community! God has much work for us to do together.  I don't have much but with God I can do anything! I will not let money or  people stop me from doing what I was called to do!
Teach your kids to help others, even when you don't have a lot, if you have a skill, use it! Stay focused, stay strong and do something to help somebody!!!xo
