Message delivered!

Hi blog family!

National foster care awareness month was a major success! Thank you to those who attended the event and to you reading.

I spoke to some lovely (mostly boys) and girls at a group home today.
Why this is important?
 I believe young people are going through alot today, especially young males:
Having to live up to "society's idea of success, looking at the young kid in Valhalla, who was in college, a good kid, but still was murdered by the popo...because of a DWB...driving while black!
Some say he should have just "stopped his car but remember his friend that was there said, the officer told him to "move his car", even if he kept going, the officers should have thought: this kid is PROBALY in college (it was a college party)...so they should have let him "ride off" knowing, they had a liscence plate and could have got him at home!...

I understand what you males are facing, even in the media they give you role models like"snooky from jersey shore or flav flav, or Mrs. "NY" really?
These are probably good people, BUT they are only on your screen for one reason: to make money!! 
To make money and send out the wrong message is the big thing now but I beg you not to follow! 

Please remember God made you - you are the best thing ever made- failure is not an option!!
No matter where you are in your life, God has a purpose for you EVERY day that you wake!! Know that you are King and Queen of the universe, anything you want, you can have and do!! 

Summed up: The message given today to all of our young boys....(and girls)
1.     Put goals in your mind, as big as you can imagine!
2.    Write them down what it is you want to do (be singer, lawyer etc...)
3.    How long you want to take to do it..realistically...(you can't be a lawyer in 2 months...but you can   in 6 years)...
4.   and hang up what you write as goal and time to do, so you can see everyday!
5.   find out who (counselor, therapist, teacher, friend) can help you achieve that goal!

God sends you many angels, right here on earth!! 
look around and see the stranger that was willing to help, the teacher that went out of her way....angels on earth, learn to utilize them, they want the best for you and to guide you to greatness you were born to become!!
6.    Love and value ALL life, yours, his, ours!! Never do anything that will jepordize your freedom or sanity!!


know that you are loved and have divine purpose, go out into this world and be the superstars you were destined to be!!! xoxo

What have you done today for a brighter future

hi blog family!

I sit here looking out of my window-seeing all the beauty the universe has in my one little corner of the world!
I am grateful for my life, my family and for the fact that I can create change in an instant with my thoughts and actions!
I ask you, what have you done today to ensure your future will be brighter than your parents?

Have you taken steps to start therapy or started a journal to release mixed feelings, hatred or anger?
Have you looked deep into your soul and discovered what will truly make you happy?


Have you found your gift that God gave to you? (sing, dance, read, write, preach, fixing things, creating etc..)
Have you worked on those gifts so that they could make you money and prepare you for a future without working for others-if you are not happy in your current work?
I hope you are not just letting life pass you by-you will not only miss out on all life has for you, but I believe by you not developing your talent/gift-the universe misses out on you as well. This life is about ALL of us and what we contribute. It can only get better if YOU make it that way!

You may have changed a kids mind that wanted to join a gang-because you taught an art class and showed him/her how to use their talent...
You may have saved someone from drowning-because you always liked the water and was the best swimmer and became a life guard...
you may have went out of the house today--stopped being a hermit--and smiled at a homeless man today---making him feel special and a need to get out of his situation....
You never know who's life you will touch, but you must find your voice, talent and gift==and then go help others with it. Sometimes it will not be obvious to you but you make a difference in this universe!

Please prepare and stay focused--it is never too late to follow your dream or discover your talent--go help change or save a life--the universe is waiting-Tanya

what have you done to bring about peace of self and others?

Hey Blog family!

I hope you are back in the grove at school, doing your homework,making plans for a better future. I also want you to think about how you can help others. You are young and you need to know how helping others makes the world better and makes you better for being less selfish. Helping others also takes your problems to the back of the classroom! help out at a local food drive or get your friends old books togeather and donate them to a poor area school! help at a soup kitchen, your social worker can tell you how... google it!! Instead of getting on facebook today or googling the funniest video of the day.. go to the library and ask if you can help out or read a book about how to help others!! Be proactive, get out and give back, you will be double blessed and the angels will always look out for you!

here I sit today looking out my window, i wrote a poem for you, don't tell me it's corney, its from the heart!! 

Ps. I will be away supporting the purple project this weekend, helping youth in foster care prepare to leave the system, I wish you could be there but  know i am thinking and trying to do things that will help you!

Peacemaker

listening to the birds-slight wind, water or cars in a distant, enjoying the peaceful sounds - I am wondering how can I be a catalyst for peace? I will go out and be of service to others today, yes, that's what I will do!!

why helping others is important

Hi blog family! see that face, my brother helped whenever he could even when he did not have much..this is why i called him my favorite person, always willing to help a stranger or friend in need..

help could be doing workshops, painting a picture that conveys something, smiling to make someones day or doing a National Youth conference like thepurpleproject.com or helping with transitional living like Tanisha Cunningham at theundergroundrailroad2success.com...You do what you can no matter how small as long as you find a way to help a foster kid in need..

Have you found what your gift is in life yet? its ok you are young but you can be giving back in a small way now...
with a kind word to a kid that is NOT favored
by SMILING, at every kid you see, especially young ones you see just coming in the group home,
HELPING, a new kid adjust to group home life,
READING, yes, reading, you can share what you learned with the younger kids, taking them around the world if you read ALL books...the alchemist, by pablo quelo, think and grow rich, napolean hill...the secret by rhonda byrn...yes, reading will elevate you, even when you seem stuck in one place, but don't read garbage, (gossip), read things that are true or teach you something you did not know...this way you can share with the others kids who may not be as "savay" as you...(look the word up)!!

anywho, helping others starts now, what are you doing to help, save or change a life? ask yourself that every day until you have an answer and the universe will bless you for thinking of others...helping others also takes the focus off of your issues,
you are loved and brilliant because you are a winner!
